Sunset

どの国にいっても夕焼けの美しさは変わらないけど
その風景はガラッと変わる。
仕事終わりにポーランド、
クラクフの広場をお散歩。
5月の陽気を楽しむために
各店舗でテラス席が解放されて
時間と時代を忘れてしまうようなひと時を過ごす。
長い影がゆったりと広場を横切り、
若者たちが出店で手に入れた夕飯を
広場中央の腰かけに座りながら食べ、
話に花を咲かせている。
そんな夕日に照らされた広場を
お酒を片手に眺めながら
100年前も人々はこうして夕方を楽しんだのだろうか
今も昔も変わらないものもあるのだろうかと
はるか悠久の時に思いを馳せる。

The beauty of a sunset is universal
But each country has its own ways of showing it
Walking around the main square in downtown Krakow, Poland
I see the restaurants open up the terrass seats to enjoy the May warmth
A moment of forgetting time and forgetting era
As I enjoy my drink, I see the long shadows slowly cross the square
The young ones have dinner in their hands from the stands near by
And chatting away happily, as they sit in the middle of the square
I wondered if 100 years ago, if this scenery was the same
If there are things that never change although time passes by
My thoughts flies through time to imagine the old days
