Reflection

外国に行く時、発見するのは
その国の発見だけでなく
自国の発見。
ベトナムはメコンデルタに来て
人々の質素な暮らしを目の当たり。
街に比べて格差が明らかだった。
貧しいながらも、楽しく生きる人たちの姿を見ていると、
豊かでも、どこかのびのに生きることを
忘れかけている自国を寂しく思う。
そして自分の思う豊かさとは何か、
自分に問いかける。

When you travel to another country
You do not just discover about the country
But you are opened your eyes to your own
Boating through Mecon Delta in Vietnam
You are exposed to the big difference
Of the town and country side of Vietnam
But the people who we may consider poor
Live very happily and content of their life
Reflecting on my own country
Although we may be a rich country
I feel a bit sad that we have forgotten to live a slow life.
And I ask myself
What "life of riches" mean to me
