Afternoon Tea with the Past

アフタヌーンティを求めて
やってきたのはハイド・パーク東にあるメイフィールド地区。
市内の喧騒からはガラッと変わって静かな住宅街。
そこを歩いていくとThe Chesterfield Mayfairというホテルに行きつく。
一見ホテルとは気づかないような隠れ家的なホテルでした。
中に入るとまるでタイムスリップしたような雰囲気の内装。
白と緑を基調にしたサンルームでアフタヌーンティを楽しんだ。
隣のバーではピアノが生演奏をはじめ、
薄暗いお部屋の中で革張りのシートの上で
グラスを傾けて週末の夕方を優雅に過ごしていた。
昔のロンドンの人々もこんな風に時間を過ごしたのだろうか
そんな昔の人たちと時間を共有する
それができる贅沢が少しうれしい。

Seeking for good Afternoon Tea,
I walk over to the east side of Hyde Park called Mayfair.
A different atmosphere from the city center of beauty and quietness.
The place I found in this quiet area is The Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel.
You may just pass this place if you have not know it is a hotel.
When I walked into the building,
I felt as if I have been thrown back in time.
I enjoyed my Afternoon Tea in a cute little sun room painted in green and white.
The room beside was a lightly lit bar playing live piano,
Where people where gracefully enjoying their drink.
Did the Londoners back in the day enjoy time as we are now?
Sharing time with the people in the past,
What more quality time can you ask for.
